I am thrilled to welcome you to the Book Drunkard Literary Festival, which has taken festivals in Uxbridge to a whole new level. No matter your literary taste, this festival has something for you to enjoy. Writers, illustrators and lit-lovers will be able to gorge themselves on incredible non-stop literary events over these 6 weeks.

The caliber of authors and illustrators is outstanding, and the staff at Blue Heron Books is to be commended for organizing such a comprehensive festival with such high-profile participants. For over 30 years now, Blue Heron Books has been a cultural hub of our town, and everyone’s favourite bookstore. While we are not able to gather in person this year, I salute Blue Heron books for finding a way to ensure we can still come together to celebrate the love of books and reading. I’m delighted to welcome those who are able to join us from afar for this virtual festival, and pleased this new format allows us to share our gem of a bookstore more widely. We look forward to welcoming you in person to our wonderful community one day soon.

We have so much to be proud of in Uxbridge, and the contributions of Blue Heron Books have played a large part in building our cultural community over the years. Please enjoy the festival and our hospitality.

Thank you,

Dave Barton Mayor
