Using the theme of recipes, participants tossed together a number of ingredients to create a character by the end of the session. Lots of hands-on exercises to experiment with character development and story ideas. The workshop was suitable for all levels of writers looking for a fresh take on inspiration and ran from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm.
Since 1996, when her first submission of fiction won Canadian Living magazine’s short story contest, Ruth has been an award-winning author of fiction, plays, and poetry appearing widely in publications across Canada, in the US and the UK. She is also a creative writing instructor and a founding editor of the literary journal Lichen.
