Attendees joined us for an evening with Ann Patchett and Bianca Marais as they discussed These Precious Days, a deeply personal collection of essays reflecting on home, family, friendships and writing.

Ann Patchett is the author of eight novels, four works of nonfiction, and two children’s books. She has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the PEN/Faulkner, the Women’s Prize in the U.K., and the Book Sense Book of the Year. TIME magazine named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where she is the co-owner of Parnassus Books.

Bianca Marais is our all-star interviewer and a fan favorite from our 2020 festival! Bianca is the author of the beloved Hum If You Don’t Know the Words and If You Want to Make God Laugh. Originally From South Africa, she now resides in Toronto with her husband.

Infused with the author’s grace, wit, and warmth, the pieces in These Precious Days resonate deep in the soul, leaving an indelible mark—and demonstrate why Ann Patchett is one of the most celebrated writers of our time.
