Celebrate the holiday season Anne of Green Gables-style with Kallie George!

Attendees joined us as we decorated vintage Christmas ornaments and wrote Christmas cards to our kindred spirits, in celebration of the holiday season and Kallie George’s new book Merry Christmas Anne. With magical illustrations and a heartfelt message, this festive picture book is the perfect holiday read for Anne fans old and new and a joyous way to celebrate the season.

Kallie George is an author, editor and creative writing teacher living in Vancouver, B.C. She has written numerous acclaimed books for children as well as the The Magical Animal Adoption Agency series and The Heartwood Hotel series. She has taught writing workshops for children and adults across Canada, as well as in South Korea, and currently teaches at Emily Carr University.

This event was a hybrid — part in-person and part virtual. Children were welcomed at The Historic Leaskdale Church (former home of Lucy Maud Montgomery) to make their ornaments, write their cards and sip tea, surrounded by LMM memorabilia! BC author, Kallie George ‘attended’ via Zoom on a big screen. If Covid restrictions prevail, the craft kits and cards would have been done at home, while watching Kallie on a home device.

Tickets included craft supplies and a copy of Merry Christmas, Anne.
